Nothing finishes off a polished outfit like the perfect head of hair, and nobody knows hair like our good friends togninis.
dogstar teamed up with togninis for the Hair Expo in Sydney on the Queens birthday weekend. The annual expo, which is held at the sydney Expo Center in Darling Harbour, showcases both local and international names.
Hairdresses flock to the expo to attend seminars held by some of the worlds top stylists. This year, Benny Tognini and his team hosted a session inwhich they dished out a taste of Brisbane’s edgier side. Models wore dogstar pieces from the current summer range and some favourites from the winter 09 collection. The combination between the two, dogstar and togninis, has once again proved a match made in heaven. Well done Benny and his team.

If 7°C mornings are bringing on wistful thoughts of warm, balmy summers spent outdoors under the sun, your illusion is not too far from reality…

When a style savvy man approached the dogstar studio looking for unique groomsmen suiting attire for his upcoming wedding, what do you think dogstar said?
We would love too.
A company that derives aspects of its conceptual form from masculinity, dogstar was the ideal choice for David who was looking to wear something a little different on his wedding day.
The end result was a true reflection of the dogstar style, with a combination of structured asymmetry and soft organic lines. The vest was adorned with a row of diamond shaped silver buttons that added a dominant and contemporary feature to the overall look of the suit. Contrasted with custom made Kwando pants (based on the traditional fisherman pant style), David and his groomsmen were complemented immensely on the big day for their distinctive and modern suiting choices. This may have been one of the first occasions in wedding history that the bride and groom looked equally amazing!

dogstar brings you new wave jewellery and accessories all the way from Europe!

neo designs, italy
These punk-inspired, rubber attitude pieces are bold, gutsy, and yet strangely luxurious. Bags and loopy necklaces made of woven and hand-knitted black and red neoprene (more commonly known as wetsuit material) are the work of Rosanna Contadini, Isabella Nardone and Analia Restrepo. Made in a little studio in Rome, neo design’s unusual use of an industrial material has earned them well-deserved, overnight recognition within the world fashion industry (having only been around for two years!). We love their inventive use of materials and layered construction.

alt&GO, france
alt&GO is like an imaginary science experiment, that takes place somewhere between “fashion and graphic design”. These Parisian beauties are vivid, eye catching, playful and every colour of the rainbow. Pillars of kaleidoscopic bangles and rings that remind you of space ships, these funky, offbeat jewellery pieces are made from gum, resin, Plexiglas and metal. dogstar and the designers at alt&GO ask you to “enjoy their wearable art.”
Available in an endless range of colours, dogstar has neo and alt&GO bags, rings, necklaces and bangles in store. Prices start at $89 (neo) and $35 (alt&GO).
