Hi I’m Orla,
I’ve been working with dogstar for close to 6 years, during which time I’ve been involved in almost every aspect of the company. I started doing Alterations in our studio at Tenneriffe while studying fashion at TAFE, I’ve made back drops for fashion shoots and done models make-up, dressed back stage for MBFF, organised numerous VIP events, travel Australia selling dogstar’s coming ranges to our wonderful and loyal wholesale customers, I have seen the company expand our retail by two stores in Brisbane and increased our number of staff.
What really makes my job exciting and rewarding is the people I deal with everyday, whether that’s our lovely, competent staff, our ever supportive VIP’s and the people that are just finding out about what we do at dogstar.

Rising dogstar in mx…
dogstar was featured in wednesday’s edition of mx, dogstar label creator and designer Masayo Yasuki and model Alicia were photographed in our new Edward Street store with gaments from our upcoming Laika spring collection.

Summer mark downs!!

new tights at dogstar
A striking new range of tights have just arrived at dogstar. Tightology’s tights and leg ware are all manufactured in Melbourne and are made from organic cotton. We have a selection of colours and designs in our stores. The tights packaging is printed on 100% recycled stock using soy and vegetable based inks, so you can look good and feel good as well. Tightology is exclusive to dogstar in Queensland.

To herald the arrival of dogstars summer 09 range, our city windows have had a make over. Strange but beautiful sculptural forms have taken over the windows in our Elizabeth St. store.
Behind the design and execution of the installation is Sachiyo Oizumi, who has collaborated with dogstar in the past.
The installation mirrors dogstars summer 09 aesthetic and highlights the raw egde of the range. The artwork’s direction emphasises the beauty in everyday life, and encourages us to look at mundane objects as art.
New Online Shop!
Our online shop is back after a refurbishment and is stocked full of our summer collections for dogstar, laika and essence. The dogstar online shop will continue to be updated throughout summer, as our new season styles hits the stores. The new site has been designed to allow you to shop easily and securely. Keep an eye out for the “tags” which have been added to each garment to help you find similar items quickly and hassle free.
Also updated on our website are the lastest collections for dogstar, laika and essence. This summer Laika’s collection features beautiful handprinted designs by Paola Milani entitled “Water Crystals.” The range is up on our online shop and includes tops, skirts, dresses and aprons, in beautiful linen, organic cotton and silk for the coming warm summer months.
