From finding inspiration, creating and adapting an idea from toile to finish garment, everyone at the studio is hands on to keep the wheels turning. It’s been busy with opening our fourth store in Edward Street, designing our next range and everything else in between. Below is a snapshot of how we spend our days in the studio…
Welcome to the dogstar studio!
Creative spaces are full of ideas. Whether they are new ideas or old ideas, whether they are ones you are keeping to reflect on a later date, or whether they are just in their initial, niggling, not-quite-born stages, studios of all persuasions are ovens for what’s about to be baked and devoured. Collections of treasure others might label as junk, the half made, the discarded, storyboards, lists, sketches, rolls of fabric, brown-paper patterns, textures, coffee cups, swamped pin boards, photos, unforgettable magazine spreads and trails of phone numbers—these are things that flesh out our South Brisbane studio.
Today we wanted to bring you a little picture of where we work and how dogstar comes to be, as this is where our ideas and creative dreams are born! We will be bringing you more from behind the scenes regularly, so keep checking in!
