Kintsugi-Do Opening Event

Last month, we opened the doors to something we’ve been quietly building toward for 25 years.

Kintsugi-Do — dogstar’s new home. Named for the Japanese ancient art of mending broken things with gold. The cracks are not hidden. They are honoured.

The evening began in ceremony. Seihaku and Shougyou monks, travelling from Tokyo, , as well as the late Shino monk’s wife. Leading a sacred Buddhist ritual to bless this space — to call in health, happiness, and the presence of those who came before us. We felt them with us.

Followed by Noriko Kambe @sensui_kobe , calligraphy artist from Brisbane. Moving through the room like breath itself. Her calligraphy brush sweeping the word HOSHIN across paper. To live in the sacred presence. A meditation made visible.

Our beloved dogstar friends and family took to the floor in a celebration runway, wearing the new AW26 collection. Laughter, movement, and a little magic filling the room. We saw what slow making looks like when it comes alive.

The space was filled with a new dogstar scent — a fragrance created exclusively for this night by Sal and Carolyn of @perfectpotion. Masayo asked for something that felt like home. What arrived was NAGI — Silence of the Wind. Coming soon.

We hope that this space is not just for our clothing, but a centre point for our community of artists and the next generation.

Thank you to Yohei and Ayano @parafeeld for designing this beautiful space. To Kat for hosting the night with such grace. And to our dogstar family — every pair of hands that helped carry this vision to life.

This is just beginning.

Kintsugi-Do opens for trading soon — hours to be announced.
