A wide leather band crosses the foot, finished with a decorative strip embossed in coloured foil or heat alone, catching the light against the matte leather. The ankle strap sits over the upper, running across the instep and around the heel with a Velcro fastening so you can adjust it to your own foot.
Underneath is trippen's signature moulded sole, deeply ribbed for grip and built to carry you through a long day on your feet.
The leather is vegetable-tanned calf from a Tuscan supplier, through-dyed and wax finished with a light pull-up effect, then tumbled for softness. Colour and texture vary from pair to pair as a result, and the leather deepens with wear and sunlight. It softens and gives a little as you break it in.
