Ibara Bag Indigo

A compact crossbody that fits a smartphone and wallet comfortably. The denim is “Ibara Denim,” woven in Ibara City, Okayama— a famed, time-honoured cloth that develops character with wear. The “Miito-ori” panel is woven in Mie Prefecture, yarn-dyed with natural indigo for its beautifully clear blue; today it’s produced by only one workshop in Japan and is designated an Intangible Folk Cultural Property. The strap uses “Sanada-himo,” a firm, low-stretch tape traditionally used on samurai armour, woven in Kurashiki, Okayama. All three textiles are finished together in Kyoto.
