The wrap construction draws from Japanese sensibility: a lapel on the left, a commanding straight panel on the right that drops lower, the two sides in tension with each other. The hem layers and falls unevenly, the draped lower panel giving the whole piece movement without softness. It is asymmetry as architecture.
